Calgary Ostomy July 2023 E-News

Hello Friends,
It has been a busy time for our chapter lately! And the fun doesn’t end there.
We have a few events coming up in July:
- Spruce Meadows Day on July 8 – everyone is welcome!
- Wild Results Forest Therapy Session on July 12 (only a few spots remain.)
- Ostomy Reversals Webinar, hosted by Ostomy Canada, on July 19.
We want to thank everyone who attended our AGM and Summer Social. We apologize for the audio issues on Zoom. We hope to have this remedied before our fall meeting.
There have been two issues with the website recently, which may have affected membership payments, donations, and event RSVP’s for some. Some fixes have been made. Tiffany will be on vacation from June 30 to July 9, so should any further web issues arise, they will only be attended to once she returns. Please get in touch via email at hello@calgaryostomy.ca should you find the event pages down and wish to attend.
Our hybrid support group meetings have seen good attendance for the past three months. These meetings will be on hiatus for the summer and return in September. Instead, we will hold social events in July (Spruce Meadows) and August (TBA).
Calgary Ostomy will hold our 3rd Annual Step Up For Ostomy (SUFO) event on September 16! (A week early due to venue availability and costs). Event planning is underway, but in the meantime, you are welcome to sign up with our fundraising team on the Just Giving website or donate here. We will receive a 10% rebate for all funds raised in Calgary and Area. Your fundraising endeavours will not only support the Ostomy Canada Society but your local chapter. Please help us make this event bigger and better! We will hold our first SUFO Planning Committee meeting in July via Zoom (TBA). If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on our website: https://calgaryostomysociety.com/volunteer-opportunity/step-up-for-ostomy-planning-committee-2023/
We are still in need of a Treasurer. Please get in touch with Pat at pvc@shaw.ca or 403 273-8946 if you can assist.
Due to health concerns, Tiffany also seeks volunteer assistance with Marketing & Communications (membership, emails, events, and general administrative service). Please watch for more volunteer postings this month.
The executive wishes you a happy, healthy summer and looks forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
