President’s Message Winter 2020
With all the challenges of 2020, it’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost upon us.
Like so many other organizations, we have gone to online Zoom meetings due to Covid-19. Our first try at the Fall meeting was very successful as was our Support Group meeting. Some “Zoom Bombers” showed up to disturb the Gutsy Gang Zoom meeting, so we have decided to change the way we share our Zoom information online.
For our December program, we will be doing something a little different. Still, in keeping with the social aspect, we will be holding a virtual bingo game. With the chance to win prizes, please ensure you register through EventBrite to participate. Click here to learn more.
We decided not to hold our annual auction due to reasons such as economics of the membership, social distancing and other factors. We are looking at the possibility of doing an online auction in the spring.
This Christmas Season, we will accept cash donations for Ostomy Youth Camp. As in previous years, all cash donations will be matched dollar for dollar by Craig Bean of CB Medical. Thank you, Craig, for your continued support!
The next virtual Ostomy Support Meeting will take place in February. Please stay tuned for that date. Our support services are always available for anyone in need. Please contact us by phone or online. We will also revisit the continuation of our meetings on zoom. Hopefully, we will be able to resume face-to-face meetings in the spring.
It’s that time of the year to renew your membership. Click here to renew.
As I write this, the province has just declared a state of emergency to help get the Covid-19 numbers down. Please stay safe! By playing your part, we can beat back this beast.
On behalf of the executive, we wish everyone and their families a safe, healthy and happy holiday season. – Pat Cimmeck
