Ostomy & J-Pouch Hybrid Support Group
April 26 @ 7:15 pm – 8:30 pm MDT

People with an ostomy or j-pouch in Calgary and Alberta are invited to our next Support Group, in person or via Zoom!
The Ostomy & J-Pouch Support Group, hosted by the Calgary Ostomy Society, is a hybrid meeting that provides an excellent opportunity to relieve tension, find validation, and connect! Hear from others with an ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy, or j-pouch of all ages with whom you can truly relate. Spouses and support persons are welcome to attend.
We will discuss various topics to support those living with an ostomy or j-pouch, including diet, nutrition, hydration, and mental wellness. There will be a breakout room for ostomates & j-pouchers to allow for a more in-depth discussion regarding issues that differ from an ostomy to a j-pouch, including ostomy appliances and j-pouch function (dependent on attendees).
Hybrid Meeting Info
Attendees have the option to join in person at the Nose Hill Library or join via Zoom! We have booked the Library Program Room for 7:00 p.m., but we need time to set up the audio and visual equipment, so please plan to arrive at 7:15. You are welcome to come early if you’d like to help set up tables & chairs. Light refreshments will be provided. Zoom will run from 7:15 to 8:15. We must vacate the room by 8:30, so some time is required for takedown. There will be a breakout group for J-pouchers from 7:30 – 8:30 in the George Stalinski Meeting Room.
